Southwest Area Ministries Southwest Area Ministries is again sponsoring a school supply drive and needs your help. A gift of $25 will give one child a complete packet of school supplies, a gift of $40 is the cost of school uniforms, a gift of $75 will provide clothes and a backpack filled with the basic school supplies for one child; or you may donate new underwear and socks, new or gently used school uniforms; khaki and navy skirts, pants, shorts; white polo shirts. These items are needed by July 31st. The Order of the Daughters of the King The Daughters of the King will place your requests for prayer in our circle of prayer for a month. There are prayer request cards in the parlor and the Narthex of the church. If your request needs to be on our list after the month is over, please call us or fill out another card. We ask you to join with us in praying for world peace daily. Where to Leave "Stuff" In answer to the question "Where do I leave something for the Rector, Music Director, Youth Director, Secretary, or Webmeister?" They all have a box in the long office (affectionately known as the "spaghetti office") between the secretary and Rector's office. There is no need to ask someone to unlock office doors; the boxes are checked daily. When in doubt, leave in the secretary's box and she will route it to the proper person. Short Announcements The Mission Outreach Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and welcomes everyone who has an interest in our Outreach ministry. Please join us and share your ideas for outreach. SEARCH is always in need of the following items: disposable razors, toothbrushes, spray deodorant, shower shoes, laundry detergent, shaving cream, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, liquid body soap, hair combs, and toothpaste. Please deposit these items in the basket in the Narthex labeled for SEARCH. Defensive Driving Classes Robert Torres-Nin will donate proceeds from his Defensive Driving classes for each Epiphany member who attends. Please call Robert at 713-270-7699 for class times. Our Epiphany History The "History Committee" continues with two ongoing projects designed to chronicle the life of Epiphany. One is an exhibit of the history of the church, gleaned from old scrapbooks. The other is a section showing CURRENT EVENTS, and is kept up to date. The events shown on this board constantly change in order to show as many pictures of people as possible, and to show what they are doing to celebrate their lives in Christ at Epiphany. This latter area changes frequently, i.e. about every three Sundays! Contributions from the parish for either, or both, areas are welcome and wanted! Altar Flowers If you would like to dedicate the altar flowers on a particular Sunday, please sign the chart in the narthex with your phone number. The cost is $40 and you will be called for your dedication. |
